Vazhani dam is situated in the dense forest of Machad hills in Thrissur district of Kerala.
The dam is built in 1959 in Wadakkancheri river for irrigation and drinking water and is 800 meter long earth dam in a picturesque place. 
The dam and the water body have the backdrop of lush greenery of the dense forest around. 
There is a beautiful garden with a children’s park below the dam which attracts lot of people including school children. 
Vazhani Dam garden also have a newly built hanging bridge across the canal. 
How to reach Vazhani Dam:
Vazhani Dam is 9 Kilometers drive from Wadakkanchery in Trichur District of Kerala in South India.
Wadakkanchery is a small town which is 16 Kilometers from Thrissur in the Thrissur – Shoranur Road.
Nearest Railway stations are Wadakkanchery and Thrissur.
